Paul J. Perron

As full professor of the Department of French and Semeiotics, Dr. Paul J. Perron has served as the 14th Principal of University College at the University of Toronto and is the academic representative of the University of Toronto to the Council of Ontario Universities. Dr. Perron is also a leading authority with many publications on the field of semiotics and has served on the selection committees of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Killam Foundation. Recently Dr. Perron was promoted as Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur by President Jacques Chirac for services rendered to French culture and education. It is the highest award a civilian can receive in France.

Sylvia Bashevkin

Principal of University College and a professor in the Political Science Department at the University of Toronto. From 2003 to 2004 she served as President of the Women and Politics Research Section of the American Political Science Association and was the President of the Canadian Political Science Association from 1993 to 1994. Dr. Bashevkin is also a senior fellow of Massey College in the University of Toronto and a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and has written several books and articles on the topic of women and politics.

Dominic W. Li

Director of Chinese Family Services of Ontario and family physician at his own private practice specializing in pulmonary medicine. He served as a clinical fellow from 1991 to 1994 and a senior clinical fellow from 1994 to 1995 at the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division of Stanford University in the United States. Dr. Li also taught at the State University of New York at Buffalo as an Assistant Clinical Instructor and has received numerous research scholarships and written many publications for medical journals. He is a member of the American Medical Association, both the Ontario and Canadian Medical Associations, in addition to being an associate member of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society.

Linda A. Morse

Clinical Supervisor and lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Ottawa. Dr. Morse also owns a private psychoanalytic and group psychoanalytic practice and serves as a staff psychiatrist for the Adult Out-patient Department of the Royal Ottawa Hospital. Previously she taught at the University of Nottingham Medical School and Nottingham Polytechnical Institute in England. Dr. Morse is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in England. Additionally, she is a member of the Canadian and International Psychoanalytic Societies and Ontario and Canadian Medical Associations.

Mariel O'Neil-Karch

Principal Emeritus of Woodsworth College at the University of Toronto and professor of Quebec literature and Franco-Ontarian theatre and semiotics. Since 1998 she has been the Associate Dean, Humanities, for the Faculty of Arts and Science, prior to which she was the Acting Principal of St. Michael's College for one year. Professor O'Neil-Karch also served as a member of the Provost's Task Force on Technology-Assisted Education.

The Board also oversees and ensures that the mission and vision of the organization is achieved, in addition to serving as the constituent assembly for the Society.
